Safe Vacation Tips A Safe Vacation Is A Happy Vacation
Amber Jonas
Vacations are all about fun. However, there are some safety precautions that should be taken to ensure that will your family vacation will not end up in the gutter. Some things need to be discussed with your family, especially small children to lay down ground rules that will keep your living space safe when you are out of town. Your teens or children should not post on the popular websites such as Myspace or Xanga that they are going on vacation. Also it is a good idea for your family to only tell trusted family members and friends you are going on vacation. Some people you should not tell are possibly your children's school bus driver, construction workers, or mail carriers. Of course if these people are not strangers and are considered friends, then feel free to tell them. However, it is good not to publicly announce your family vacationing plans due to the rising rates of burglaries. Burglaries happen the most when a family is away on vacation. When you are vacationing, there are safety precautions you should take. Children should be aware that since they are in a new area they should never travel alone. Places like strange cities and large amusement parks make it easy to loose family members or friends in the crowds. Make sure your children know all the what-if scenarios. If your child knows where to go if they get lost before they get lost, it will cut down on any anxieties and fears. Most places have safety policies which you might want to learn about before you go on your vacation. If you stay in a hotel, be sure to tell your children that the hotel room doors and windows should be kept securely locked. They should not open the door to anyone and always go to the pool or lobby with someone else. Even at the nicer hotels there is a risk of crime. Do not let your family vacation be ruined by something that cold have been avoided. Your family vacation should be fun and most of all safe. Make sure your family knows what to do and where to go if a safety concern arises.
